Trisodium citrate dihydrate, also known as sodium citrate, is an organic acid sodium salt. The appearance is white to colorless crystal with a soapy water taste.

Sodium Citrate is an organic compound that has white to colorless crystals. Odourless, with a cool salty taste. Stable in room temperature and air, slightly soluble in wet air, weathering in hot air. Lose crystal water heated to 150 ºC. It is easily soluble in water, glycerol, alcohol and other organic solvents. It is decomposed by overheating, slightly deliviate in humid environment and slightly weathering in hot air.

Application

Trisodium citrate dihydrate is mainly used as flavoring agent, stabilizer, buffering agent, chelating agent, nutritional supplement, emulsifier, flavoring agent of buttermilk in the food and beverage industry; used as anti-coagulation, phlegm and diuretic in hospital industry In the detergent industry, it can replace sodium tripolyphosphate as an auxiliary agent for non-toxic detergents; it is also used in brewing, injection, photographic drugs and electroplating.
