SNF High Range Water Reducer for Concrete
Description
The primary active ingredient in Sodium Polynaphthalene Sulfonate is naphthalene sulfonate, a compound derived from naphthalene, an aromatic hydrocarbon. This compound is polymerized with formaldehyde to create SNF a high-efficiency dispersant. The molecular structure of SNF is characterized by its ability to adsorb onto cement particles, imparting a strong negative charge on their surfaces. This electrostatic repulsion between particles prevents flocculation, allowing the cement particles to remain well-dispersed within the mix.
This dispersion effect dramatically reduces the viscosity of the concrete mix, enabling a significant reduction in water content while maintaining or even improving the mix's workability. The result is a denser, stronger, and more durable concrete, which is less prone to shrinkage and cracking.
Technical Feature
Application
● 1.High-Performance Concrete (HPC): SNF is a critical component in the production of HPC, which is required in structures that demand superior mechanical properties and durability.
● 2.Precast Concrete: SNF improves the workability and finish of precast elements, ensuring high-quality results in factory-controlled environments.
● 3.Ready-Mix Concrete: In large-scale ready-mix operations, SNF ensures consistent performance, particularly in projects with complex structural requirements.
● 4.Mass Concrete Pours: SNF helps control the heat of hydration in large pours, reducing the risk of thermal cracking and ensuring the integrity of the structure.
● 5.Concrete for Marine and Coastal Structures: SNF's ability to produce dense, low-permeability concrete makes it ideal for use in marine environments where resistance to chloride ingress and sulfate attack is crucial.
